Artist Profile: Sheila Golden

Sheila Golden’s background includes work in design, illustration and fine art. She attended the School of Visual Arts in New York and went on to work as a graphic designer. After a move to the San Francisco area she studied illustration at the San Francisco Academy of Art and later received her BA in fine art and lithography from Sonoma State University. She then went to work on staff, as an illustrator in the gift and greeting card industries. Sheila’s use of bright colors and unique shapes is influenced by her travels to Mexico, Asia and Europe with an added bit of whimsy and love of nature. Her illustration has been licensed for television, editorial, advertising, giftware, packaging, and greeting cards. Sheila’s numerous clients include Amaretto di Saronno, American Lung Association, Beringer Winery, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Children's Television Workshop, Hallmark Cards and KQED Television
