Artist Profile: Alexander Barsky
Alexander Barsky graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute in 1974. As a freelance graphic artist he has created posters, book covers and illustrations for most of the prestigious Russian Publishing Houses. Alexander moved to the United States in 1988 and continues to work as a freelance graphic artist. His clients include The New York Times Book Review, Canon, Money Magazine, St. Martin’s Press, Guideposts Publication and Ullstein-Buch, Germany. One of Alexander's most memorable projects was for FAO Schwarz’s flagship storefront. He created 24 illustrations that were prominently displayed on Madison Avenue between 59th and 58th Streets from 1974 - 1982. -
