Artist Profile: Peter Bono
Peter Bono has been an illustrator for over 30 years. He works in traditional watercolor, pen & ink as well as Illustrator and Photoshop. Many of his works combine these mediums. He has exhibited at the New York Society of Illustrators, the NY Art Directors Club and the New Jersey Art Director’s Club. His work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, corporate communications and ad campaigns. His clients include well known publications, ad agencies and corporations: Time, Fortune, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Young and Rubicam, Ogilvy and Mather, BBDO Worldwide, McGraw-Hill, Wiley Book Publishing, Lipton, Prudential and AT&T. Peter loves working on projects that involve creating both the concept and resulting illustration. He is currently working on a book of historical but little known facts about the founding fathers: George Washington sued a group of back woodsmen who squatted on his land. The court ruled for the woodsmen, quite the message to send the people of a new republic. Thomas Jefferson was interested in the mythical gryphon, half eagle, half lion. Jefferson imagined the young United States maturing into a great nation using the combination of intelligence (eagle) and strength (lion). -
