Artist Profile: Gail Machlis

Gail Machlis wrote and drew the syndicated cartoon Quality Time, which was distributed across the country by Universal Press Syndicate. Her work has appeared in Cosmopolitan, New Woman, Ms. Magazine, Radiance, Road and Track, Phi Beta Kappa and Glamour Magazine. A resident of the San Francisco Bay area, Gail’s work has been used by The East Bay Monthly as well as the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. A collection of her cartoons, “Quality Time and Other Quandaries” was published by Chronicle Books. Her most recent projects include creating illustrations/cartoons for a guidebook for parents of diabetic children.
